Saildrone collects valuable ocean data using a fleet of unmanned, autonomous sailing drones.
Scientific research vessels with human crews cost about $80,000 per day. Saildrone's fleet of autonomous sailboats collect vast amounts of ocean data year-round for a fraction of the cost of traditional research ships. Saildrones have now sailed over 60,000 nautical miles, with missions in the Atlantic, Pacific, Gulf of Mexico and Bering Sea.
