Segolene Scarborough
Sego serves as Chief Financial Officer for Lux where she focuses on establishing world-class finance systems and processes. Sego aims to be a valuable resource internally and for Lux portfolio companies, providing strategic counsel on industry benchmarks and building effective finance teams.
Prior to joining Lux, Sego was controller at Sequoia Capital where she managed financial reporting and operations for funds across the U.S., China, India, and Israel. During her time at Sequoia, Sego was also responsible for developing and reviewing GAAP valuation models for portfolio companies across all geographies. Previously, Sego was part of the PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) audit practice in Brussels and San Jose, CA where she focused on Biotech and Venture Capital clients.
From an early age, Sego had an affinity for math, particularly data and analytics. Born and raised in Namur, a small village on the French-speaking side of Belgium, Sego first came to the US as part of a college exchange program. Sego earned a Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting and economics from the University of Mons Hainaut - Warocqué business school and immigrated to the US in 2005.
